Tension is always present
Expectations are to be met
The lead graced with attention
Delivering as expected to the script
A play rehearsal takes its course
Cast words scrambled to the feet
Second woman begins her script
This part of no significance
So much so, she isn’t deserving
Of even a little director’s attention
She plays the subconscious persona
Of the important character lead
As the story unfolds – of a woman
Known by all as she wants to be seen
But there is, as within everyone
Another part that only you see
A subconscious which you agree
That sometimes you disagree
A persona that gives you strength
When you are feeling weak
A reminder when you forget and
Confidence when it is lacking
A decision when you can’t make one
Point out all your disappointments
Even bring you back to reality
If you drown in all your importance
So when a woman who plays a part
Which is of little or no significance
Think about the two sides within a dream
Two women - or maybe two sides of a woman
The insignifcant woman played a persona
A character which took the stage by storm
They couldn’t take their eyes off her
Captured by the place she took them
Even she was lost in those moments
A director who knew all along
The significance of this important role
Just because you think, you are nothing
Doesn’t mean that you are, nothing
In fact you are much, much, more!
