One Pilbara Morning

I looked behind me towards the sun
Creeping out from the ridge, such beauty
Ahead of me was the moon with pride
Not yet willing to relinquish its spotlight
Together they yield the most wonderful
Depth of colour from the landscape before me
Softening cloud with the hues of sun and moon
Adding shade to the brightness of the light
As my journey on wheels changes direction
The sun and the moon follow me too
Nature - a most perfect landscape created
By the most amazing of creators - one
Who does not need a face to be known
We feel - see the presence surrounding us
Those who can open their heart and soul
Enough who believe see so much more

Stepping back to see the big picture

A mere mortal in the grand scheme

One star amongst a whole galaxy

I used to think I was living

But actually I was just breathing

You gave me light, brightness

I used to feel the lonely & empty

Now I am never lonely

You give me so much to live for

You don’t give me what I can handle

You help me handle what I am given

I am thankful for my struggles

Without them I wouldn’t have strength

You know all of my vulnerabilities

I am not what has happened to me

Instead I am what I chose to be

Changing each day - to choose

What I will become  – a better me

The joy you bring

Wells in my eyes

Tears do fall

Gently down

Becoming

A gentle drizzle

Landing on your roof

You relax peacefully

The happiness

You inspire

Floods my eyes

Running down my cheeks

Becoming

A stream you can fish by

Smooth waters to kayak

A tranquil place to camp

It’s how I miss you

That sometimes waters

Break confines

Tears become the sea

That you can sail upon

With the wind and the sun

The sails full mast

Travel the ocean far and wide

Bringing you closer to me

A history of a child's lost innocence

Creeps out to greet a place

A place so bright - blinding

Raising her hand to cover her eyes

In sadness and fear - alone

She has dwelled for so long in darkness

As her fingers gently part

Looking through the gaps between

She sees something so new

Pointing her naked foot out front

Stretching her toes to touch the light

Checking she won’t get hurt

This is just a girl

Who wanted to reach for the stars

Dance in the full moon light

Be kissed by the day of sun

Those Soft Grey Eyes

When I wake to see you looking at me

Wondering how long your eyes warmed my skin

How many words you had already thought

Sending them to the heart of my mind

In those moments looking into your eyes

Melting me with such truth and meaning

Laying there those soft grey eyes

Like you have already seen what is to be

All you feel all you see is where you want to be

Sometimes I cry you know how happy I am inside

What you send to me through your eyes

Pulls from within me and pours to the surface

Knowing what you see is what you do to me

How much you mean to me, my life

No one will ever appreciate you like I do

No one will ever fight for you as much as I will

Other than your blood – no one person

Will ever love you as much as I do and can

So when you lay your eyes on me – ponder

You can imagine what goes on within me

How I think thoughts of you, all I have seen

What I feel deep inside of me, poets dream

So much that words continue to escape me

Feelings cannot always be put into words

In my eyes you find me exposed, raw and free

It feels so good to feel how I do

Breathing deeply, air into my lungs

Alive because I am living with love

You make me feel like a queen

I am brave to step outside of me

Never stopping to do my best

Overcome what I think I can’t do

Anything feels possible with you

You are a treasure chest of strength

The arms that hold me compassionately
